Kuala Lumpur (May 12th) : The Umno’s 66th anniversary weekend festivals looked a quiet affair. UMNO leaders that were out in full yesterday could not be found around today’s in carnival celebration, which saw less than 300 UMNO ordinary members in the afternoon.

Only a tiny fraction of the 70,000-strong crowd that thronged the Bukit Jalil Stadium last night were present here this afternoon. Multiple tents and stalls dotted the grounds outside the stadium, but not many people were seen going to them. Most of the action appeared to centre on the BN Youth Job Fair tent, a paintball arena and and a few outdoor futsal courts.

“It’s a Saturday morning. Things are quiet . This did not appear to be the case, even as inflatable castles and makeshift skateboard parks were set up. In fact, there were so few people attending the carnival that bored personnel handling these attractions amused themselves by playing on them instead.

The carnival will end at 6pm tomorrow. – FMT
