Transvestite arrested for robbery in pilot’s house

Police on Tuesday arrested a transvestite for a robbery at a Thai Airways pilot’s house in Bangkok, reports said.

Police charged Chaiya Phanta, 35, with robbery and seized valuables worth over one million baht reported stolen from Sethwattana Utapow’s home in Wang Tong Lang district of Bangkok on Aug 15.

Items seized include several amulets, bags, watches, a diamond ring and a gold necklace.

Police said the suspect was arrested at his apartment in Bang Kapi district.

The suspect has admitted to the crime, according to police, saying that he wanted money to buy drugs.

Police said the suspect is wanted for several other crimes he committed in Bangkok and Chon Buri.

The suspect has a criminal record. – BangkokPost
