GEORGE TOWN – The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) will tighten security nationwide to maintain public security with the coming Aifilfitri celebration.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Ismail Omar said police would intensify patrol, as well as increase their presence, in crime-prone areas and public places to maintain order.
The police had enough men to do so and had planned several special strategies for this coming festive season, he told reporters after presenting contributions to widows of policemen and orphans here.
He also said in conjunction with the Aidilfitri celebration, police would launch the Ops Sikap 26, which is aimed at encouraging defensive driving to reduce accidents.
It would be launched on Aug 10, he added. – BERNAMA
