Teenage model surrenders – stepping on PM’s photo issue

JOHOR BARU: A 19-year-old freelance model surrendered herself at the Johor Baru (South) police headquarters here Wednesday for allegedly stepping on photographs of the Prime Minister during a Merdeka Day eve gathering.

Wearing a white collared T-shirt, the teenager from Taman Puteri Wangsa, accompanied by her friends, turned herself in at about 10am after her picture was published as part of the police wanted list in a Chinese daily Tuesday for stepping on pictures of Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak during the Perhimpunan Janji Bersih gathering at Dataran Merdeka.

The report was completed around 1.05pm and she was escorted into a police vehicle out of the building.

She will be brought to the Dang Wangi police headquarters in Kuala Lumpur to assist in investigations.

Meanwhile, a 19-year-old male turned himself in at the Dang Wangi station Wednesday afternoon after seeing his photograph in the newspaper in connection with events at the gathering. – The Star
