Tahfiz fire: Police warn of fake donation drive

Kuala Lumpur
– The police have warned the public to be wary of any fake donation drive following the fire at the Darul Quran Ittifaqiyah Residential Religious School here early today.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohamad Fuzi Harun said the public should first verify the status of the organisation that embarked on the collection before donating their money.

“If in doubt, I urge the public to lodge a police report on the matter,” he told Bernama here.”

A total of 21 students and two teachers who had also served as wardens were killed in the 5.15am blaze while seven others were injured. – Bernama
