Stop sharing gruesome images victims of the fire incident in Taman Datuk Keramat – Vell Paari

– At least 25 people died after a fire broke out at a religious (tahfiz) school in Jalan Datuk Keramat early Thursday.

“My deepest condolences to their families and friends who have lost their loved ones today,” said Datuk Seri Vell Paari, MIC Treasurer-General.

“It is time for Dewan Bandaraya Kuala Lumpur (DBKL) and the Fire and Rescue Department to start identifying how many more of these kind of religious schools that does not comply with DBKL and the Fire and Rescue Department safety requirements. Help them and get them to comply to these safety standards accordingly so that this kind of incident will not happen again.”

“Not with standing the above, I would like to call on all Malaysian to stop sharing the images of these young victims on social media, especially their bodies and charred remains. Please feel some pity and compassion towards their families when these kind of pictures are posted on social media. This is not right,” he stressed.
