Police have extended the remand of a suspect in connection with the rape
PETALING JAYA – Police have extended the remand of a suspect in connection with the rape and murder of teenage Sabturiah Faisal.
Selangor deputy CID chief ACP Rosli Mohd Isa said police have also recorded statements from the victim’s friends, relatives and neighbours.
“We hope to submit the papers to the DPP next week.” Sabturiah, 19, a factory worker, was found dead in a flat at Taman Taming Jaya, Kajang, on Aug 13.
A relative who worked in the same factory was detained two days after investigations revealed he was the last person to be seen with her.
She was found lying on her bedroom floor by her sister Samsiah and brother-in-law at their rented flat at 7.25pm.
Sabturiah, the seventh of 12 siblings, had bruises and scratches on her body as well as a ruptured liver.
She had come here from Tawau, Sabah, to work and save money so she could pursue her studies at a polytechnic.
