SHAH ALAM – The police detained a married couple in Selayang Baru near here last Thursday, to facilitate investigations into the murder of a businessman in Bangi early this month.

On Sept 9, Won Sin Keong, 42, was found bludgeoned to death near his car at a road-shoulder off the 5 1/2 milestone Bangi. A baseball bat was found in the vehicle whose front passenger seat bore blood stains.

Selangor CID chief SAC Mohd Adnan Abdullah said today, a police team picked up the couple, both aged 27, about 9.40pm, and seized four cell phones.

He said the man, believed to be working as a ‘runner’ for tow-truck operators, was remanded while his wife was released on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the police nabbed two youths suspected of snatching a handbag from a 26-year-old woman while she was walking with her mother towards their unit at the Millenium Square Condominium in Petaling Jaya last Monday.

The suspects, aged 18 and 20, were picked up at Taman Dato Harun, Petaling Jaya about 5.30am yesterday.

Seized from the duo were a motorcycle and RM150.

During the snatch theft, the victim’s 56-year-old mother fell on the ground and injured her nose and hip.

She was warded at a nearby private hospital.
