GEORGE TOWN: Family members of a private school teacher who died in a fatal road accident arrived from Miri, Sarawak to claim the body from the mortuary today.

Lee Boon Sim, 36, died in the Penang Hospital on Tuesday after a motorcycle she was riding pillion collided into a car in Gurney Drive.

It was a grief striken moment as they arrived at the Penang Hospital mortuary at about 10.30am. Lee’s mother was seen weeping while the father looked dejected.

They refused to speak to the press. Also present was Lee’s boyfriend Goh Eng Soon, 37.

Lee had been chosen the school’s most outstanding form teacher for seven years in a row since 2005.

She was again selected by the school panel comprising teachers again for 2012 for the honour but the accident on Tuesday denied her the chance to win the award for the eighth time.

It was reported that Lee was thrown off from her motorcycle and a post mortem showed she died of severe head and internal body injuries.

Lee’s body was sent to the Batu Gantong funeral parlour about 3pm. She will be cremated at the Batu Gantong crematorium today.  –  The Star
