SHAH ALAM – Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim will be campaigning in the run-up to the general election using a modified double-decker bus costing RM500,000.

The Selangor Mentri Besar had acquired the bus, which comes with a retractable platform and public address system, to hold ceramahs in various locations in the state and country.

The 19-seater bus also comes equipped with two massage chairs, two LCD televisions and a pantry complete with a fridge and microwave oven.

Khalid said he had personally forked the bill for the bus. He had rented the bus for six months, with an option to purchase after that.

“It is mine, as an individual. We did not use state money,” he told reporters here Sunday.

He said the bus would be made available for Pakatan Rakyat leaders to conduct campaigns.

The bus, unveiled at the Selangor state government’s Hari Raya open house, was plastered with a festive message and the image of Khalid and Selangor economic adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

“For now, it will have the Raya message, and later we will change it to bear the images of Pakatan Rakyat leaders,” said Khalid… – STARONLINE
