June 24, 2012 – Yup, you read that right.
Surprise! Surprise! Researchers have found that hugs and kisses are more important to men than women.
Men who had frequent kissing and cuddling were three times as happy, on average.
Women, on the other hand, said these type of signs affection had very little impact on their happiness.
Both men and women reported that the longer the relationships lasted, the more their sex lives improved.
But men were more likely to say they were happy with their relationship while women were more likely to report being satisfied with the sex.
These findings were the opposite of what researchers had expected.
A thousand couples from the US, Germany, Spain, Japan and Brazil had been in relationships between one and 51 years, were surveyed.
The study was done by the Kinsey Institute at America’s Indiana University and published in journal Archives of Sexual Behaviour.
