Men fined for pasting racial and free sex posters

KUALA LUMPUR: Three men were fined RM700 in default 14 days’ jail by a Magistrate’s court here after they pleaded guilty to pasting racial and free sex posters six months ago.

Hospital clerk Muhamad Nizam 24, driver Hamzah Mahmood, 32, and technician Shahir Saarani, 30, was charged with pasting the posters depicting photo and an act of “Lim Guan Eng anti-Malay”, “Lim Guan Eng racist”, “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans”, “Undi Ambiga Undi Seks Bebas”.

They committed the offence at Jalan Wan Kadir in Taman Tun Dr Ismail here at about 3.40pm on Feb 4.

The Star reported that they were charged under Section 15(2)(a) Minor Offences Act 1955. Meanwhile, the other two co-accused Mohd Jamil Jamaluddin, 36, and Mohd Norizam Che Othman, 31, claimed trial to the charge.

Magistrate Zulkpli Abdullah granted bail at RM1,000 each and fixed Sept 4 for mention.

Counsel Rezal Mazli Abdul Muin represented all five while Deputy Public Prosecutor Haderiah Siri prosecuted.
