Malaysian Police ala Mafia – An unarmed D Dinesh was shot dead by the police
“When our convoy of three cars stopped at the traffic light near the Ampang Waterfront, two Proton cars blocked Dinesh’s car, the men inside came out and started shooting,” he said, adding that they were not armed as claimed by the police.
Eyewitnesses of a police shootout in Ampang last week have claimed that plainclothes personnel shot an unarmed man “point blank” and released at least 10 rounds indiscriminately.
D Dinesh, 26, who died two days after he was shot in the wee hours of Aug 21, was not carrying anything when he got out of a white Proton Perdana, said Y Ilavarasen, 24.
He said the Proton had been blocked by an unmarked car at a traffic light near Ampang Waterfront.
“I was a few cars ahead of him and could see him from the back. He wasn’t holding anything, Ilavarasen told reporters today.
The 24-year old logistics executive said this at a press conference held at the PKR headquarters today which was also attended by Dinesh’s family.
Also present were PKR vice-president N Surendran, supreme council member Latheefa Koya and Kapar MP S Manickavasagam.
His account refutes that of the police, who had said that the Proton had tried to back into police patrol cars.
“After that, four men carrying parangs got out of the car and smashed the patrol cars,” Ampang deputy police chief Md Nazri Zawawi was reported
