King and PM pay last respects to Keng Yaik
PETALING JAYA – Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah today paid his last respects to former Gerakan president, Tun Dr Lim Keng Yaik.
The King, who arrived at 11.10am, spent about 10 minutes at the residence of the late Dr Lim, accompanied by the latter’s son, Lim Si Pin, who is also and the Gerakan Youth chief.
He was earlier received by Gerakan president Koh Tsu Koon upon his arrival. Prior to that, Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor were present to give their last respects to the late Lim.
The wife of the deputy prime minister, Norainee Abdul Rahman also paid her last respects to the late Lim.
Lim, who was a cabinet minister for 22 years, died Saturday at the age of 73.
Lim, who was energy, water and communications minister from 2004 until 2008, left behind wife Wong Yoon Chuan and three children.
According to bernama , his body would be cremated at the Cheras Creamtorium after being accorded national honour.
