Job interview – robbed and raped

A diploma graduate, who responded to a job interview at a hotel here, was robbed and raped when she went to the venue four days ago.Kuala Lumpur Crime Investigation Department deputy head, ACP Khairi Ahrasa, said the 24-year-old woman was offered the job and asked to go for an interview by a man she befriended on the internet.He said the man, in his 30s, offered the woman a job with a lucrative salary and told her to meet him at a budget hotel in Cheras for an interview.

“The woman went to the hotel and during the interview, she was raped and then robbed,” he added.

Khairi said the woman lodged a police report after the incident, but the suspect could not be traced, as his name was not registered with the hotel.

However, he believed the man was the same person wanted by the police in a rape case involving a 23-year-old woman last month.

The modus operandi was similar, he added.

In another incident, a man was detained for allegedly assaulting a 14-year-old boy at Taman Usahawan, Kepong here three days ago.

The 22-year-old suspect was arrested at his house at Jinjang Utara at about 5.30am today.

In the incident three days ago, the boy was on his way home from school when five men, aged 22 and 23, who were on motorcycles, assaulted him.

Police are looking for the remaining four suspects who are still at large. – KL-Today
