IPOH: Thieves broke into three government offices located in the Federal Building on Jalan Panglima Bukit Gantang Wahab here early Friday.

Staff discovered the break-ins when they went to work at 7am at the Orang Asli Affairs Department (JAKOA), National Community and Family Development Board (LPPKN) and the Election Commission.

The burglars also attempted to break into the Rural and Regional Development Ministry office.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Sum Chang Keong said there were signs that the front door locks at the three offices were forced open.

“We found one fingerprint at the JAKOA office, three at the EC office and two at the LPPKN office.

“At the EC office, RM400 cash belonging to the staff’s club was stolen and RM200 cash of the LPPKN staff club was taken,” he said.

ACP Sum said the break-ins could have occurred during midnight and the thieves gained access via the road behind the building by climbing over the fence.

JAKOA director Mohd Zamri Mustajab said most of the personal staff belonging to the staff were missing. “This has never happened before,” he said.  –  The Star
