Ilayaraaja to thrill fans at first Malaysian concert

– Indian musical legend, maestro Ilayaraaja will entertain his fans in Malaysia via his mega concert entitled ‘Raaja-The One Man Live in Concert 2017’ at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil on Saturday.

The concert is a tribute to his fans because he was unable to perform at a similar concert four years ago due to health problems.

Ilayaraaja and his orchestra as well as popular singers from India, comprising over 80 entertainers are making the final preparations to give their best performance in the inaugural concert in Malaysia.

“I am very grateful and honoured to have the opportunity to entertain fans for the first time in Malaysia. I will be singing songs of the ’70s to the current ones,” he said in a statement here.

The concert ‘Raaja-The One Man Show’ is scheduled to start at 7pm and popular Indian singers including Mano and Chitra would also be performing,

The music icon who has composed more than 6,000 songs and provided film scores for more than 1,000 films in various languages, did not turn up for the concert ‘King of Kings Maestro Ilaiyaraaja Live in Kuala Lumpur’ four years ago, due to health reasons.

Meanwhile, My Events International CEO, Shahul Hameed Shaikh Dawood said today that more than 90 per cent of the tickets for the concert had been sold. – Bernama
