High EPF dividend due to good investment, management – Najib

Kuala Lumpur
– The high dividend rate declared by the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) is a result of good management and investment, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak today.

“Alhamdulillah (Praise to God) as a result of good management and investment, today EPF declared a dividend rate of 6.90 per cent for conventional accounts and 6.40 per cent for Syariah Savings.

“The distribution of dividends and gross investment income this year is higher than of last year. Congratulations EPF!,” he said in his Twitter and Facebook postings.

The prime minister also hoped that the announcement would increase the subscribers’ savings for their future needs.

EPF has declared a dividend rate of 6.90 per cent for conventional accounts for 2017, with a payout amounting to RM44.15 billion and 6.40 per cent for Simpanan Shariah for 2017, with payout amounting to RM3.98 billion.

The total payout for 2017 amounted to RM48.13 billion, an increase of 29.8 per cent from 2016. – Bernama
