A FEMALE ghost “fell in love” with a bachelor and prevented him from getting married even though he went for several matchmaking sessions.

His family members only found out later that the female ghost tried to “stop” the man from having any relationship with any other woman,Guang Ming Daily reported.

The 63-year-old man died of a heart attack three years ago.

The man’s sister said she dreamt her brother told her he wanted to marry the woman during the Hungry Ghost Festival last year.

The sister said the man urged his family members to arrange an afterworld wedding ceremony for him and the female ghost.

Family members found out that the female ghost’s mother miscarried her 43 years ago, and she is also from Penang.

The two families do not know each other.

The wedding ceremony was held at a temple in Penang on Sept 4 with representatives from both families present.

> Four children, aged between 10 and 12, were found begging for money from members of the public who just withdrew money from ATMs in a bank in Bahau, Negri Sembilan.

The children would beg for at least RM1 and tail the people until they were given some money, China Press reported.

A bank customer told the daily that he had given some money to the children as he felt sorry for them.

“However, I found them begging for money in the same area the following day. They would scold people who refused to give them money,” he said.

He said he had complained to the bank officers who chased the children away. However, the children would return and hang around in the area.

An officer from the district welfare department said they have received complaints from the public and managed to trace the identity of two of the children who were brothers.

“According to their mother, she was not aware her children were playing truant and begging money for instead,” said the officer.
