Creative mind will lead Sarawak to next level – Abang Johari
Kuching – The young generation in Sarawak have to think creatively to enable the state to become one of the most advanced, high-tech and high-income states by year 2030, said Sarawak Chief Minister, Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg.
He said creativity allowed the people to make changes and to make a change, the young must expose themselves to the new technologies or be left behind.
“The moment you dream of something, it will become an incentive for you to find a way and mean to achieve that dream.
“Destructive thinking will lead you to be more creative, meaning to say being normal is a norm and we must find a new way to go against that norm. That’s why, I emphasise on digitalisation to change the way people work and live,” he said.
He said this at the opening of the Sarawak Career & Training Fair (SCaT Fair 2018) at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) here today.
Also present were state International Trade and E-Commerce Minister Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh and Assistant Minister for Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh.
“I hope through this Scat Fair, the young are ready with the new way of working ecosystems,” said Abang Johari.
A total of 153 exhibitors are participating in the Scat Fair 2018, the largest annual fair in Sarawak being held since 2012, which aims to bring education, training and employment opportunities to graduates and school leavers all in one place. — Bernama
