AMBIGA SAYS SUHAKAM SHOULD INVESTIGATE VIOLENCE AT YESTERDAY’S RALLY
KUALA LUMPUR, April 29 (Bernama) — Datuk S. Ambiga, the chairperson of yesterday”s rally which turned ugly and saw violent incidents, wants the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) to probe into the matter.
“Those who created problems should be identified, including those who breached the barricade cordon (at Dataran Merdeka),” she told a news conference. When asked whether she, as the organiser of the rally, would take responsibility for these incidents, which also caused damage to public properties, Ambiga she would have to look into Suhakam”s report.
“Don”t make any assumptions on who is responsible. We have to investigate first and find out who did that. Let the investigation takes place; we want Suhakam to investigate everything, they can also investigate us,” she said.
