SEPANG (Dec 17, 2012)  –  Sepang police believe they have solved a murder cum robbery case in Taman Putra Perdana on Dec 8, with the arrest of 10 suspects aged between 17-30 on Thursday, including one suspect who had three previous criminal records.

Selangor deputy CID chief ACP Rosli Mohd Isa said three suspects were arrested in Taman Putra Perdana and another seven in Segamat (Johor), including five who bought the stolen goods.

Police also believe the murder weapon (believed to be a hammer) was also recovered. During the incident on Dec 8, a computer engineer, 35, was allegedly murdered during a robbery while police were informed of the incident at 7.07pm on the same day, by the victim’s family members.

“The murdered victim lived alone in the house but regularly visited by the victim’s parents. The last time the parents had visited the victim was on Dec 5.

“Upon arrival at the scene police found severe injuries on the victim. The cause of death has been identified as severe head injury due to blunt force trauma,” he told reporters at the Sepang police headquarters here today.

The suspects who made their entry into the house by breaking through a window had escaped with the victim’s Toyota Vios car, a 32″ LCD TV, Ipad, Samsung handphone and the victim’s wallet.

Rosli said the stolen car was found in Kelantan on Saturday while the hammer, believed to have been used in the murder, was found in one of the suspects’ house.   –  Bernama
